Bilsart is hosting Esra Gülmen’s exhibition entitled “Rrrrivers” between August 4-14, 2021

To stay in the flow and to harmonize with the fluctuation of time are the common desires shared by most of us who have internalized the spirit of this period. Through this video, the viewer is asked to stay in the flow for 2 minutes and think about the use of materials like paper and water as they initiate the dissolving and dissipation processes together in a synchronized order. So, does all of this make sense or does it have to? Is the surge of our emotions enough to keep us in the flow?

ABOUT ESRA GÜLMEN

Esra Gülmen (1986, Istanbul) is an award-winning designer and visual artist based in Berlin.

After graduating from Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Interior Design, she worked with Europe’s acclaimed advertising agencies Ogilvy Frankfurt, Ogilvy Amsterdam as an Art Director and Head of Design at Heimat Berlin. A member of the Art Directors Club Germany, she was selected to the list of “200 Best Illustrators Worldwide” four times in a row by Lürzer’s Archive Magazine.

The artist, inspired by human psychology and the small struggles of everyday life, sees her art practice as a form of self therapy.

Esra, who has taken part in many group shows, has opened three solo exhibitions so far in Amsterdam, Hamburg and Berlin. Her latest works are featured at the Pilevneli x König Kaplankaya group exhibition.
